Location and Scale

Beaconside Campus is located approximately 1.5 miles to the east of Stafford Town Centre, connected by shuttle buses from Stafford Railway Station. The Campus is well-connected with major cities in Britain; 30 minutes’ train journey to Birmingham, one hour to Manchester and only one hour and fifteen minutes to London. By car, the Campus is positioned on either side of the A518 Weston Road which is one of the principal routes into the town centre and is only 3.5 miles from Junction 14 of the M6 motorway.

In total, the campus covers 45.87 acres (18.53 ha), which is divided by Weston Road and Hydrant Way into 3 ‘parcels’.

Parcel 1 comprises the main teaching campus to the north which covers approximately 7.88 ha (19.48 acres). This part of the campus provides teaching blocks, the distinctive Octagon Building and two one-story buildings.

Parcel 2 is to the south of Weston Road and covers approximately 9.40 ha (23.24 acres). This element of the site includes the University Sports Centre, two all-weather pitches and playing fields. It also includes the University’s residential accommodation comprising Stafford Court (604 rooms) and Yarlet Hall (51 rooms) and the adjacent Aston Common Room.

Parcel 3 comprises currently undeveloped land to the south of Weston Road and west of Hydrant Way. This is separated from the main southern site area by Hydrant Way which provides access to the Fire Station. This parcel covers approximately 1.28 ha (3.16 acres).
